High tech and early stage companies often need financing to get to break-even and achieve rapid growth. Before undertaking fundraising for a client, we spend time getting to know the team and going over the technology, markets, competition, business plans and projections. We do this to determine if it is an opportunity and a team that is likely to be financed. If we decide it is, we then work closely with the team to structure and tailor the opportunity to fit within the criteria of likely financing sources and to develop the materials we will use in the process. When preparation is complete, we take the opportunity to a targeted group within the network of VCs, PE funds, and strategic investors that we know, follow up with interested investors, and then help negotiate term sheets and close deals.
